Koh chang (Elephant Island) Eastern Thailand near Cambodian border

My father and mother were visiting so we decided to take them to Koh Chang for a few days of holiday.

Koh Chang is a beautiful island on the Eastern side of Thailand. It is about a 6 hour drive from Bangkok including stops and toilet breaks. To get onto the island there is a ferry near Trat. You can also take your car onto the island. An an example, taking a car with two passengers the total is 280 baht (about $9 USD). The ferry ride is about 30 minutes.

When you arrive by ferry, you will land on the northern part of the island. The best beach on the island is White Sand beach in my opinion. This is on the North Western part of the island. The next best beach is Klong Prao also in my opinion. The hotels at White sand beach tend to be older and the Klong Prao hotels newer.

It was also on this trip where I discovered a lovely German restaurant called Paul's restaurant. It has delicious German food and breakfast with stunning views of the ocean.
