Kata, Kathu, Patong beach, Bangla and more in Phuket Thailand

This was KC's first airplane ride ever! We took an Air Asia flight from Bangkok down to Phuket international airport and stayed near Bangla road. The room was simple but clean and new in a 4 story townhouse building. In Thailand, the best value guesthouses are usually a small business with a restaurant or travel agent on the ground floor with the rooms rented out upstairs.

We rented a motorcycle and had a blast exploring Phuket. We also met up with our friends Tomas and Bow and took a speedboat out to Phiphi island. A gorgeous island with silky soft sand.

Myself and Tomas went looking for rooms while the girls rested with our bags at a restaurant. We found a great place by the beach for under 1000 baht. Owner was a Westerner who didn't have his mind all quite there.

On the day of checkout, we left the keys on the front desk as no one was there. We walked to and boarded the ferry to make our way back to Phuket. As we sat on the ferry that had yet to leave, we saw this owner storm his way across the platform and onto the ferry looking for us accusing us of taking the room keys with us! He demanded that we return to the guest house with him.

It took some convincing to make him believe that the keys were actually on his front desk table and that there was no reason why we would want to take the keys with us back to Bangkok! What a joke and what a story to remember! He eventually believed us and stormed back off the boat.
